Victims’ Rights
This month the Justice and Electoral Select Committee considers submissions on the last government’s Victims’ Rights Bill 1999 and a Supplementary Order Paper (SOP) added in December 2000, by Justice Minister, Phil Goff. These replace the Victim of Offences Act 1987 and considerably extend various ‘rights’ to victims.
